Here is SG
The deconstructed Trust Mark represents the coming together of Singaporeans from all walks of life - when viewed from a designated angle, the parts come together to form the unified logo, showing how Singapore is a collective where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The Singapore Tourism Board commissioned us to create a sculpture using the SG Trust Mark at the Marina Bay Area, the heart the world's Garden City.

The result; a 3 meter high and 20 meter long landmark showing Singapore in a new perspective. An inclusive and interactive installation that celebrates Singapore's citizens in all their diversity and showed Singapore as a collective.

The landmark is created in collaboration with the amazingly talented local artist Alvin Tan of Phunk Studio and teams from Greenology and Superstructure.

The name

The name ‘Here is SG’ refers to the sculpture’s location, the Marina Bay area.
It’s the centre, the heart of Singapore. It’s where Singapore’s past, present and
future all come together.

It also refers to its location in a broader way, to all the landmarks, monuments, iconic buildings and statues, around the sculpture… Places people visit and look at in awe. The Super Trees, Marina Bay Sands, The Art Science Museum, The Fullerton Bay, The Merlion, the skyline. Places that represent the best of what Singapore is – a nation realising endless possibilities and passions. “Here is SG” – invites all to admire all that’s around the sculpture.

Sustainable by design

Besides being a landmark that offers visitors creative photo opportunities, ‘Here is SG’ embodies Singapore’s commitment to a more sustainable future, designed with minimal electricity usage and with a small carbon footprint.

The sculpture’s lush, wooden facade is made from 100% reconstituted timber— harvested from all parts of the tree to minimise wastage—while the native Pilea plants that adorn it absorb carbon from the air.
